i searched for a day,but i can not find the answer ,so anyone can help me pls...thank you

MY SYSTEM:
WIN 2003+VMWARE WORKSTATION 4.0+ubundu linux

Question: when i  start fictx, it will proceed,but i can see nothing in the screen,and CTRL+SPACE without any effect...

i  use apt-get install fcitx to install fcitx,
this is my locale:

and my ubundu linux use defalut chinese setup,i just can see chinese toolbar and others, i had setup many chinese fonts,
