skim's error

I've compiled scim skim and scim-pinyin.
I can use scim but skim.
skim is in the directory "/usr/local/kde/bin".I cd into that dir and use "./skim" command to start it,but I failed.

where is your $KDEDIR?
please configure skim with parameter
--prefix=$KDEDIR

alternatively, you can find out your KDEDIR by
kde-config --prefix

skim should be installed to where KDE is installed to
