准备转向gentoo并安装桌面环境，求建议及经验。

各位好：

    我关注gentoo好长时间了，准备趁5.1时安装gentoo及桌面环境，现向各位求建议及经验.先向大家介绍一些基本情况：

    1.我安装gentoo主要用于工作，我做Java及Unix下的C/C++编程，平时需要用MS的办公软件写文档（包括Visio及Project），Wine及虚拟机都是可接受的方案；

    2.我对linux有一定的了解，常用的术语及命令较为熟悉，使用ubuntu两年，使用arch一年，现使用arch中，对gentoo的安装过程有一定的了解，但对内核编译了解的不多；

    3.我想要精简的、没有过多无用项的内核，安装GNOME桌面；

    4.希望大家在内核编译、X-Server的安装、显卡驱动的安装、GNOME桌面的安装、无线网络的配置、中文支持及make.conf、USE标记等方面给出一些建议及经验，方便时最好给出命令；

只有个提议，要用 eclipse 的话，直接下个包解压用吧，装 portage 里面的包比较倒腾，哈。

用 gentoo 比较关键的就是个 USE ，不过这东西，各人有个人的用法，不要期望一下就配好，慢慢的调整，最后达到一个比较好的状态，用 gentoo 的开始阶段是很折腾的，但是用久了，就很顺手，就很难有换其他发行版的念头了。

如果你是个懒人的话，那么就用 gentoo 吧，哈哈。

先编译一个可以用的内核，以后再慢慢删掉不需要用的东西。假如一开始就想着编译出一个精简的内核，那它多半是启动不了的：P

USE标记也不必急着一开始就弄全，先把系统装上，能够启动，然后再根据自己的需要慢慢添加。
