IT IS BORING TO USE MANDRAKE LINUX WITH A CONNECTION TO INTERNET.MANY PEOPLE THINK THAT it is not an easy problem, If you want use Mandrake Contral Center to solve the problem. I could tell you that you are definitely wrong, because mandrake linux 9.0 has a serious problem with an ethernet card in a mother board. If your ethernet is in your motherboard, I could offer you a solution. Try this. At the lilo screen, press the Esc key to get to a text prompt, then type linux noapic. If you are in the screen where you can find boot:, you are in the right place. Here type you LILO NOAPIC. and see if networking works properly when it finished booting. (you may have to config it). If you have to config it, youl need to replace quiet with noapic in the append section of lilo.conf. run /sbin/lilo to save the change. and reboot the system.MAN, you are very lucky if you succeed with my help.
