DSL=Damn Small Linux?
The original Damn Small Linux is based on Knoppix. However, in order to be small, many packages are stripped down or replaced with something else. The C complier is a typical example. In DSL, it does not bundled with gcc, but comes with a C compiler called Tiny C Compiler. Tiny C is rather rustic and almost useless. I have no experience with the "gcc for DSL". However, if I were you, I would install dpkg and then download the gcc from official Debian repository. i.e. http://packages.debian.org/ |
