U盘linux能不能在不支持U盘启动的主板的机子上使用呢?

别告诉我你的主板上没有USB接口
如果有的话你的BIOS没有这样的功能
你就去BIOS站点去看一看有没有新版本能够支持这项功能啊
我想只有这样的办法了

Yes, but you need a boot image to load linux in your USB flash disk.  The download page of DamnSmallLinux provided such image.

I am talking about the boot disk image, not the Linux CD image.

The boot disk image is a 1.44MB floppy disk image.  This helps those who people with "主板不支持USB启动".  When the floppy disk boot up, it can search for the USB port to start the Linux on USB devices.

Another option is to configure the linuxrc script in initrd and boot the system up with the normal boot loader such as GRUB/LILO/Loadlin.exe etc but this is a little bit more complicated.
