发现AcrobatReader经常报这个或那个字体找不到，从而导致无法显示，这是什么问题？

Because the original PDF file does not embedded the necessary fonts or the PDF file requires certain fonts that are not available (and cannot be substituted) in your current system.  It is particularly true when the PDF is created in M$ and you are reading it in Linux world.

You may not solve this problem in the user's position.  It is always best to embed the necessary fonts into PDF during the creation.

Usually Chinese fonts are not easy for substitution.  So, if you create you own PDF, always embed the relevant fonts.  Once fonts are embeded, then you no longer need any substitutions.  You may even read the Chinese PDF in English language environment if the fonts are embeded.

xpdf may also suffer the same problem if the required fonts are not available.

那就没办法了，我们是看别人的PDF文档，如果他们不这样做，我们也没办法。还是得用windows来解决问题

那是制作时的问题吧？好像只有收费的Acrobat专用软件才支持那个功能啊！

如果是所有中文都显示不了的话（会有缺少语言支持的提示的），可以装一个acrobat的中文支持包，这样就可以显示没有embed字体的中文PDF文档。

The Fineprint PDF factory, another non-free software, may also embed fonts.

I am also looking for a free one on Linux.

可以把中文转成曲线再制作成PDF。linux下的scribus做PDF不错
