Xdefaults怪现象

我系统是 rhas3 2.6.6

我的.Xdefaults不能自动控制emacs  但rxvt却可以

详细如下

但我用 xrdb .Xdefaults
之后却发现对emacs的字体设置起做用了.   不知道是怎么回事，请知道的帮助

什么命令能查看一下我现在系统中的设置情况?

可以在/etc/rc.d/rc.local添加
xrdb -merge ~/.Xdefaults

这样是可以的，但是我觉得Xdefaults应该是自动执行的呀，为什么我的系统会出现问题?

请指教.
