Another strange problem of xfce4.

After days of using of xfce in my BLFS installtion, another strange problem occurs.

Xfce provide us a terminal called xfterm4, in fact, it' s a shell script which makes use of xterm. The problem is, I can only get one terminal with a shell prompt after rebooting my computer. Then, even if I closed this terminal, no shell prompt appears in the later opened terminal windows, they are just blank with nothing in it. Restart of X doesn't solve this problem, only by rebooting my computer, I could start one really really precious terminal.

what's the wrong with it?

First my desktop and taskbar of xfce4 seems doesn't work, although it appears in the xfce4's configuration panel.That's Ok, they are not important. But this time it's the terminal, and without terminal I almost can not do anything. LFS/BLFS really isn't that easy.

Belows are my guess to my problem, any further help strongly welcomed here.

1.Wrong configuration of xterm.(In fact, I can't find any in /etc and my home directory)
2.Lack of pty. (If this is true, where does the "one precious terminal" come from ? And I also have 256 pty device files in /dev, using MAKEDEV script.)
