You should be able to do this. It would require building a vanilla
2.4.21 kernel.

The next version release of Red Hat will have support for this.
Following the every 6 month release cycle for RHL (now RHLP), that would
place it around October. The current beta includes the 2.4.21 kernel.

The answer has arrived! Mandrake Linux 9.1 (now in production release) supports the hardware! Woohoo! We were able to easily set up the new server - and boy are these drives FAST!

To get get good sata in linux u need 2.4.21 or newer.

I run gentoo & 2.6.0 test4 on my a7n8x dx.

我使用RH9.自带的bootdisk.img制作了安装软盘， 但是启动系统，怎么没有“expert”这一项啊？

另一种方式是，先在PATA硬盘上安装RH，再升级内核到2.4.21以上，然后再在SATA硬盘上安装。
请问，这一步应该要如何做？升级内核后，虽然RH认识到了SATA硬盘，但是怎样才能将RH安装到这个SATA硬盘上呢？

另，ICH5R的主板提供有SATA RAID的功能，如何可以进一步制作这个SATA的RAID呢？
