No sound in slackware9.1! Help!

I have tried all the ways, but the sound card is still not work!
   
  I have viewed the XMMS output plugins, when I chose the ALSA 1.2.8 OUTPUT PLUGINS, it showed "please check your sound card",and so on, and only the "OSS Driver 1.2.8" works, but there was no sound! Is it the problem of alsa driver? Should I recompiled the alsa-drivers?

did you upgrade the kernel?if the answer is positive, than you may have to add in kernel (like modules)the following options: sound->advancedlinuxsoundarchitecture->pcidevices->
in this point, you have to add c-media 8738 8338 and via82c....
if you are using the default kernel, so i don't know
