It depends on your needs.  BLFS will give you the ideas and methods to compile the necessary tools to turn your newly built LFS system into a useful system.  It gives you further enhancements on the system basics.  In addition, you need to build various libraries, X window system and etc.  If you have no experiences on BLFS before, then you should try it.

As I always mention in this forum, building LFS/BLFS/CLFS/CBLFS etc are not merely following the books and type commands, the most important thing is to learn about the principles on why and how the systems are built.

On the other hand, to further enhance your knowledge in building systems, then CLFS is the way to go.  Certainly, CLFS is more difficult to build and understand the underlying principles.
