我确实没有make install， 我是想先试试能不能运行再安装的。现在安装后能运行了。不过还是有些小问题：
我打开apue2.chm在左边目录树里会有：&nbsp这样的符号，书中的图片都不能显示。

多谢你指出这个问题，我打开 apue2.chm 也有同样的现象。

gnochm 是用 python 写的，我对 python 不熟

这个我知道，看来估计是有一定的困难，好像gnochm的作者也说目前不太可能用gtkhtml3。
另一个可参考是kchmviever，但是基于k的。

楼主可以参考一下kchmviewer,这是非常优秀的一个，同样支持各种编码的chm。

更新到了 RC2，这两个问题已经修复。

gnome  的可以用chmsee
kde的可以用kchmview

超级郁闷，我使用的是gentoo，安装chmsee需要gtkhtml，可是gtkhtml一直装不成功
提示如下：
