F8 分辨率上不去？？

我的是19寸LCD宽屏，可是分辨率只上到1152＊846，很难看。
升级 ati-driver-installer-8.42.3-x64.run  进不了图形界面，只好重装系统（很菜的办法）
怎样在能上到1440＊900 ？？
用19寸LCD宽屏的朋友发表下方法吧？

xorg.conf如果有问题，就进不了图形界面了

HorizSync 31.5 - 56.0
VertRefresh 56.0 - 65.0
这两项的后边的值适当调大一点试试

先升级一下内核，我的就是升级了内核以后，屏幕分辨率就好了。
fedora8自带的好像是2.6.23-21吧。
我升级到2.6.23-49就好了。

不行，调到 31.5－80   56－100 都不行。

怎样升内核？是自动升级的吗？如果不是自动升级的话，我这些菜鸟还是不要稿好了。
