请教笔记本X WINDOW问题？ 显卡是s3 Savage:86c270-294 Savage/IX-MV的

我机器是IBM T20
            P3 700，128M，40G
           显卡是s3 Savage:86c270-294   Savage/IX-MV的

我用XORGSETUP，配置完，，也加了Modes “1024x768","800x600"
但是运行STARTX，一直没显示。


用XORGCONFIG，配置完后，也出错。

出错后有一些提示好像是驱动不支持，，请高手帮忙看看，，，谢谢！
VGA（0）：Driver can't support depth 24
Screen(s) found,but none have a usable configuration

把色调成16位试试
可以把xorg.conf帖上来看看

我用XORGSETUP配置，，，改了XORG。CONF

在文件中加了，MODES “1024X768”，“800X600”


还是上不去，这种错误

我在IBM T23上装过slk
我是只用了第一张10.1的安装盘，没有装X及Xap
X选择了dropline gnome
显卡跟T20属于一个类型，具体型号不太一样，不用配置顺利跑1024×768的X
楼主试试这种安装方式如何？

试着把DefaultDepth 24改成16
再吧Depth 16段加上Modes "1024x768","800x600"试试看？
因为可能显卡驱动没有装好，不要着急先上24M色。
逐步降低色深，看哪一个色深的设置可以把X启动起来再说……

还有lsmod看一下你的显卡驱动模块加载了么？
如果没有加载把hotplug开启，应该会找到显卡并加载合适的驱动模块的
