gnome起动错误，怎么办？

我在起动gnome的时候出现错误：
Could not look up internet address for Pp.
This will prevent GNOME from operating correctly.
It may be possible to correct the problem by adding
Pp to the file /etc/hosts.

（Pp是我的主机名，呵呵）

我再/etc/hosts里面添加了Pp，仍然出现相同的错误，怎么做才能避免不出错误？

另外，还有个问题需要问：
我再起动ftp服务器的时候也是因为同样的原因不能起动，错误也是因为
“Could not look up internet address for Pp“

我们的网络是adsl上网，内部有四台机子，ip采用”动态分布“。
