Re: XMMS plugin

I don't have time to deal with this stuff right now, but I'll post a quick update / project status blurb. You can glean much of this information from the thread if track it backwards 10+ pages.
So Here's the deal:
I wrote and xmms-mac plugin way back when and got it working with MAC 3.97 on my x86 gentoo linux box. The build is user-friendly when it works, but I made my plugin as a stand-alone since there wasn't a standard MAC on linux source base back then. I tried to fix some issues, and for many ppl it builds, but for some, particularly PPC, hacking may be required.
SuperMMX did a full porting job of the MAC 3.99 source to linux (i think). Then he wrote an xmms-plugin that requires his 3.99 libmac as a dependancy. The two packages were available in one .tar.gz last time I checked. I initially got it to work (once i figured out it was two separate packages and built them in the correct order), but then I had some issue with it crashing or something and I ripped it out and put my plugin back in. Some day I'll play with it again, but not yet.
SuperMMX and I emailed each other and concluded the obvious. Both of us agree his plugin is probably the one that will become the official one, but that some simple user documentation, or at least an install guide needs to be created. However, neither of us has time to deal with this right now. (Any eager volunteers are welcome to help out with organizing the code or organizing the packages or writing up instructions or whatever). Right now, there are _two_ working xmms-mac plugins, but neither is completely user-friendly to find, download, build, and install.
So, solution:
I'm going to throw up a web page with this info on it and a link to download the plugins. That way, at least there will be a place with this information, and I can even update it some day if I get adventurous.

If anyone wants to write their own (html pref) description of the situation (or their own plugin, heh Grin) or something, I'd be glad to add it to the page. Just email me the file or something. Or contact me on AIM.
