So far, there are other source based distros such as Gentoo, Sorceror, SourceMage, Lunar and Rock... etc. Due to the time and tedeous procedure in handling source codes, most of these src based distros introduce their own package management software, portage in Gentoo is most well known. However, being too automated means you lose the control of your system to the package manager. As a result, these distros may not provide as much educations as LFS.
