请问lilo都是linux哪个版本的boot loader

lilo, like grub, can be the boot loader of any distributions.

我知道这个，但我们楼装rh9都是grub阿
想问问别的版本哪个是lilo？？
不会是装系统时选的吧？？

Before the introduction of grub, all old versions of RH, MDK, Debian, Slackware use lilo.  Pls clarify your question.

新版本之所以不用是不是因为lilo没有grub好呢？？
有点片面，但grub是不是比lilo有一些优点呢？？

To certain extent, grub is superior over lilo, e.g:

1. old version of lilo has the well known 1024 cylinder restrictions
2. any time you made changes on lilo.conf, you must activate lilo to rewrite the boot sector
3. if linux is removed, but the boot sector is not re-written, you have chances not to boot anything and receive a error of LI...
4. you cannot apply additional boot parameters in the boot prompt as grub does.
5. grub also allows you to search your boot partition under grub's shell

There are other advantages of using grub over lilo, as a result, many new distros switch to grub.
