What are they:
4-stable CD-ROMs
releng4.iso (for CD-ROM install)
bootonly-releng4.iso (for NETWORK install)
live-releng4.iso (live filesystem + singleuser mode, NOT FOR INSTALL)
5-current CD-ROMs
current.iso (for CD-ROM install)
cdboot-current.iso (for NETWORK install, using cdboot)
bootonly-current.iso (for NETWORK install, using boot.flp)
live-current.iso (live filesystem + singleuser mode, NOT FOR INSTALL)
4-stable/-current CD-ROM (selectable)
duplex.iso (releng4.iso + current.iso)
CVS repository tarballs (FreeBSD itself and FreeBSD-jp projects)
cvsrepository.iso

Note:
x releng4.iso and current.iso has some packages, including XFree86 4.x
meta pacakges, Xwrapper, CVSup (non-GUI version), bash, and zsh.
x current.iso now employs cdboot; boot with GENERIC kernel instead of
shrinked kernel on boot floppies.
x All CD-ROMs should be bootable. However, live-current.iso can't mount
CD-ROM as root filesystem (kernel bug?).
x bootonly-*.iso is only contains installation documents and boot.flp,
3MB-size small boot image. It's for FreeBSD installation, but no
distribution itself is included. You should do network install.
cdboot-*.iso is like bootonly ISO, but use 'cdboot' instead of boot.flp.
This is a little bit larger than bootonly, but you can use complete
GENERIC kernel for installation.
x live-*.iso is yet another flxit.flp. You can simply boot FreeBSD with
this CD (only CD itself). Since live-*.iso contains _all_ FreeBSD base
distribution files, you can use any commands; it will or will not help
you when you're in some troubles.
x duplex.iso contains both 4-stable and 5-current distribution and
can boot with either 4-stable/5-current kernel. However, some computers
does *not* support over-2.88MB-boot-image emulation so it can't boot
on such computers.
