在linux下读硬盘声音很响是怎么回事

我的硬盘在linux下读有明显的声响, 而转到win下几乎听不到什么声音,这是怎么回事?是不是要在哪个地方设置下读硬盘的方式?

我的机器配置是IBM_T23的本，硬盘希捷5400转的，文件系统reiserfs,内核版本2.6.26, 硬盘是ATA-100 (Enhanced IDE)却确认成了sda, 不知道有关系没.
翻到个老帖 http://www.linuxsir.cn/bbs/showthread.php?t=128689, 也是差不多的问题, 不过好像没解决.

你是把Linux装在最后面的分区了吧，如果是的话有声音就是正常的。如果把windows装到后面的分区，硬盘也是会响的。这个和硬盘的物理结构有关系。

确实是在最后的分区,  原来还有这么回事.  多谢指点了.

终于解决了，不是因为linux装在最后一个分区的问题...
今天偶然发现这么一段:

supported as well under Linux as it is under Windows. This
seems to be particularly true for SATA hard drives. As shown by
hdparm -I (see below), my 400GB Samsung doesn't have
acoustic mgmt enabled even though it's supported. So
far I haven't been able to find a solution for this. hdparm -M128
and -M254
fail with:

HDIO_SET_ACOUSTIC failed: Inappropriate ioctl for device
HDIO_GET_ACOUSTIC failed: Inappropriate ioctl for device

就是说硬盘有噪音管理之类的东东，可以用hdparm设置（man
hdparm,看一下-M选项），128是quiet模式声音较小；254是fast模
式，声音较大。可能是linux为了性能默认用了fast模式。用命令
hdparm -M128 /dev/sda 把它改回来声音就小了。OhYeah终于告别那
可恶的噪音，可以过个清静的2009了！

我调成大的以后硬盘温度会高4度左右。 笔记本

我Windows下也很响，看来是没办法了
还是咱linux 小伙子能干
