ati for debian4

I have download ati driver which named ati-driver-installer-8.37.6-x86.x86_64.run.
How can I install it on debian 4?

Some step have done it:
./ati-driver-installer-8.37.6-x86.x86_64.run
The system say install succesuful, but I feel my monitor looks badly.

when I use the command, the info shows:
Xlib:  extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":0.0".
display: :0.0  screen: 0
OpenGL vendor string: Mesa project: www.mesa3d.org
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa GLX Indirect
OpenGL version string: 1.2 (1.5 Mesa 6.5.1)

Dose it prove install succuseful?
