tar的问题,急在线等

当我在shell下执行:tar Zxvf ****.tar.z的文件时,出现如下错误:
tar (child): compress: Cannot exec: No such file or directory
tar (child): Error is not recoverable: exiting now
tar: Child returned status 2
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors

为什么??请高手解答.

系统中没有uncompress这个程序，你可以试用gzip解压。不要重复发帖。

.tar.z的文件是不是只能用tar解压?

现在的Linux系统一般没有compress/uncompress这个程序，tar.z从名字看是tar归档，compress压缩的文件。现在的gzip能够解压由compress压缩的文件。所以你可以用gzip解压试试看。

zcat ****.tar.z | tar xvf -

The software I install uses the uncompress automatically,but the uncompress command work well on other pc except mine.Is there any way I can copy the compress program to my pc from other ?And how to do it ?

在我的Debian系统中, 有compress这个命令，它是由gzip包提供的，但你还可以安装ncompress，它和传统UNIX世界中的的compress是完全一样的。

I copied the excutable files including compress and uncompress from other pc to mine ,and then ,I type the command :tar Zxvf ***.tar.Z and it works well.

Maybe there are not the programs in my installation pakages.
