Light-weight word processing package

Hi folks,

I'm now installing BLFS 6.1 and searching for a light-weight word processing package which can read and edit M$ .doc documents.  OOo will be too heavy taking long time to load and occupying huge space.

Some folks suggested AbiWord.  Does it support Chinese editing without problem?
