为何make dep 系统提示说不需要呢?

我在试图升级我的内核2.4至2.6时在执行make dep时为什么提示说是不需要的?
我看到还有兄弟也问了同样的问题
可我没找到回复!
所以恳请大哥大姐教教小弟拉

"make dep" is no longer needed in the 2.6 kernel, this is already described in the kernel documentation.

2.6好像不需要make dep了
直接make
