How to install SCIM in english env? (SOLVED)

I just followed the common procedures:
Install scim and scim-pinyin, then modifiy /etc/X11/Xsession.d/95xinput,
add ' export LC_CTYPE=zh_CN.GBK;
         export XMODIFIERS=@im=SCIM;
         scim -d'
restart X.

The problem is, I can see SCIM icon in the tray area, but nothing happens
when I use CTRL+SPACE.

By the way, my locale settings are all ''en_US.UTF=8" except LC_CTYPE.

Any clue?

搞定了，原来俺的locale是en_US.UTF-8, 需要把LC_CTYPE设置为
zh_CN.UTF-8才搭配，一开始咋就没想到呢
