Eterm's problem

after I emerge eterm
I run it .
and it just show me 'hit a key to exit'
if i press anykey , it will exit ....
what's the problem.........I wonder.......

my emerge's    Eterm is OK  ,  eterm  is  cool  term

i emerge mlterm,and find it not work too....
and so as xterm..........
What happen to me ..........
Is it  has something wrong to the kernel ......
