the files downloaded from net such as *.tar.gz can't be show in colors when execute 'ls' command,but the old files copyed from livecd is well showed.what happens?somebody help me! :help  :help

vi /etc/profile
alias ls="ls --color"

I have add it as followed:
alias ls='ls --color=auto'
but no effects!

把alias ls="ls --color=auto"加到~/.bashrc里再重新login试试。
