问个菜菜的问题:硬盘如何命名的(如hda,hdc,sda等)?

好像大家只有一个硬盘的时候,一般命名为hda什么的,
我也只有一个硬盘,可用fdisk -l查看的时候却是如下:

为何是hdc,还有上面那些都是什么意思呀???

hda=IDE primary master
hdb=IDE primary slave
hdc=IDE secondary master
hdd=IDE secondary slave
sda=first SCSI storage device
sdb=second SCSI storage device
...

sda，sdb也可以用来指示U盘！

那在ｇｒｕｂ里硬盘是怎么定议的。什么ｈｄ０，ｈｄ１，我有两个硬盘。好像是从哪个启动，哪个就是ｈｄ０，真是不解

Consider the primary master:

hda1, hda2, hda3 and hda4 are the primary partitions.  In the IDE architecture, only 4 primary partitions are allowed.

hda5, hda6,... are the extended partitions.  You can have unlimited no. of extended partitions.  However, if you use an extended partition, then hda4 cannot be used.

In GRUB, everything start counting from zero.  So,

hd0 means the primary master hard disk drive
hd0,6 means the 7th slice of the primary master, which is same as hda7

similary, hd1,7 is equivalent to hdb8 and so on.

Clear?

因为我不是很了解grub，所以在两个盘上都装有grug，我看了hda上的grub.conf里面有引导Linux（hd0,0），windown （hd1,0)，还有一行我忘了，但在hdd上引导windows 怎么也成了（hd0,0)，实在是糊涂
