Please understand under what situation your system will rely on SWAP. You system begin to write temporary information to SWAP when the physical memory is not sufficient. Therefore, the best way to improve system performance is to add RAM, not a SWAP.
However, if you want to do this, separate them in different IDE port, i.e. 7200rpm harddisk as primary master and 5400rpm harddisk on secondary (master of slave) do not matter. Do not put them together in the same primary or same secondary.
In the IDE architecture, master and slave are sharing the same IDE port. In other words, when master and slave cannot do a READ or WRITE action in the same time. |
