A question of compiling kernel. Sorry lfs is going on, can't write in Chinese

I've just compiled a kernel for my LFS. And now, I'd like to change some options and rebuild a new one. However, if I use the kernel of the same version, I think when I run the "make modules_install", it'll install the modules into the same "/lib/modules/2.4.22". I think it can't work for different kernel sharing the same modules lib directory.

So, pretty please help. Thanks a lot!

Does it mean only one kernel will work? I mean two different kernel working.

To Dasn: So the command can tell the kernel to load modules from the new MODLIB? Where can I find the configuration file? Thanks.

Tune things in /etc/modules.conf and /PATH_TO_MODULES/modules.dep to fit your taste.

IMHO,the problem is how to distinguish the kernel image with the same release number. maybe the 'uname -v' can help.
