fcitx have to be used under Chinese Enviornmenr?

My sys: RH9.0
afetr installed fcitx, I changed ~/.bashrc addedd 2 lines below:
export LC_ALL=zh_CN.gbk
export LANG=zh_CN.gbk

after that, I can input chinese, but my user interface also change to chinese, for some reason, I have to keep my interface as english. so I comment that 2 lines, and then the chinese charactors I inputed can not be displayed correctly.

any suggestion? THanks!

It needs locale zh_CN or zh_CN.GB2312 or zh_CN.GBK
