菜鸟：debian有几种？适合用作桌面吗？

如题，ubuntu感觉不好，debian从来没试过，一直挺有好感的，想装下。有windows了硬盘安装是不是有个grldr文件，再加两个内核的什么文件就可以了啊？

debian有三个版本：稳定版(stable)、测试版(testing)、不稳定版(unstable)

做桌面的话用testing就可以了，如果你功力深、不怕出问题可以用unstable。

下载debian的硬盘安装文件
1、下载debian-testing镜像文件
        http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/weekly-builds/i386/iso-cd/
2、下载debian硬盘安装文件
        http://debian.osuosl.org/debian/ ... es/hd-media/vmlinuz
        http://debian.osuosl.org/debian/ ... /hd-media/initrd.gz
3、下载grub(如果系统已有就不用下了。)
        http://download.gna.org/grub4dos/
4、将下载的三个文件放到FAT32分区的根目录下(目前debian还不支持NTFS分区硬盘安装)
二、安装系统
1、重启计算机进入grub环境
执行：
        root (hd0,0)
        kernel /vmlinuz
        initrd /initrd.gz
        boot
2、分区及安装基本系统
3、挂载iso镜像文件
执行：
        fdisk -l
        mkdir /mnt/hda0
        mount /dev/hda0 /mnt/hda0
        ls -al /mnt/hda0
        mkdir /mnt/cd1
        mount -o loop /mnt/hda0/debian-testing-i386-CD-1.iso /mnt/cd1
        ls -al /mnt/cd1
4、修改源列表文件(用本地镜像安装系统)
        nano /etc/apt/sources.list
        deb file:///mnt/cd1 testing main
        aptitude update
5、配置local
        1、选择locals
                dpkg-reconfigure locales
                选择：
                en_US.UTF-8
                zh_CN.GB2312
                zh_CN.GB18030
                zh_CN.GBK
                zh_CN.UTF-8
                默认选择zh_CN.UTF-8
        2、去掉不用的locals
                aptitude install localepurge
                一路回车即可，去掉不用的locals
6、用本地镜像文件安装桌面
        aptitude install xorg
        aptitude install gnome-core
7、配置ADSL上网
        aptitude install pppoeconf
        pppoeconf
8、修改源列表(从网上升级系统及其他软件)
        nano /etc/apt/sources.list

        #安全更新
        deb http://security.debian.org/ testing/updates main contrib non-free
        deb-src http://security.debian.org/ testing/updates main contrib non-free

        #debian.linux.org.tw
        deb ftp://debian.linux.org.tw/debian testing main non-free contrib
        deb-src ftp://debian.linux.org.tw/debian testing main non-free contrib
        deb ftp://debian.linux.org.tw/debian testing-proposed-updates main contrib non-free

9、更新源列表
        aptitude update
10、升级系统
        aptitude upgrade
11、安装wqy点阵字体
        aptitude install xfonts-wqy
12、安装fcitx输入法
        aptitude install fcitx
        im-switch -s fcitx -z default
13、安装声卡驱动
        aptitude install alsa-base alsa-utils
        回到字符界面下执行：
        alsaconf
        一路回车

新手推荐 虚拟机先装几遍。
然后刻盘装，
没刻录就用 虚拟机装到物理硬盘（注意分区），
最后推荐硬盘安装。

（个人认为对新手难易程度来说）

楼主没必要像2楼那么麻烦
做了2楼的第一步就行，以后没必要用命令来安装，除非是高手与想给自己找麻烦的人
重启后用文本方式安装debian与用文本安装ubuntu一样，没有不同，没必要先安装基本系统然后再进系统后安装桌面，一起连桌面安装好最方便了，重启就进入桌面！
cd安装完后要配置一下local
dpkg-reconfigure locales
以后与ubuntu的设置一样

用 ubuntu 的  livecd 启动，用 chroot 网络安装很不错。

我也是是新手。不是很难，下个镜象，刻张盘，按提示一步步操作就行了。感觉Debian用起来还是比较舒服的。
