oracle db 安装是否需要xwindow ? diff between gcc and compat-gcc ?

1 准备安装oracle db 10g，在官方文档上查看了，一般软件包需求如下：

这里看到了许多X─window有关的软件包，请问是否需要x-window gnome?

2 我接触centos，发现软件包：
compat-db.i386
compat-gcc compat-glibc compat-libgcc compat-libstdc++
这一些本来的gcc有什么区别？
是不是redhat专用的：

简单回答就行了，关键是是否需要X环境 ？ 是否要进入gnome图形界面才能安装Oracle ？
现在服务器没有安装x桌面，能不能基于字符安装Oracle ？

不过你可以用远程桌面连到服务器上安装，我就是这么装的。
