How can I set opera as the default browser?

debian 3.1 sarge, fvwm 2.5.
I have only installed w3m through apt-get and opera through deb file, but the default browser is w3m.
Although it can be set by adding the Global Settings in .fvwm2rc file, but it seems not to be a good method, and sometimes the default browser is still w3m.

There is only 1 program which provides www-browser
(/usr/bin/w3m). Nothing to configure.

If there's no entry for opera, just add one for yourself

Then why don't you just look at the manual page yourself? When I'm answering your questions, I don't know all of them either, and I also have to look at the manual page. just type

Opera即使安装到alternative系统，也应该是x-www-browser。

Can you upload a file /var/lib/dpkg/alternatives/www-browser? I have edited it and it seems has destroyed! The related command update-alternatives meets error now, the prompt is

每个人的alternative列表不同，取决于其安装的程序，其上是我的www-browser列表，供参考，但不应手动编辑，而应该用update-alternatives命令。
