sys V与bsd的启动有哪些区别？

我是slackware新手,常用redhat as 3

听说slackware用的是bsd风格启动
它与sys V风格区别在哪里?

各有哪些优点缺点？

我也刚接触，现在我知道的区别就是在
etc/rc.d里
sysv的改起动level目录里的link文件名前面的K或S
而bsd的直接改每个服务程序的权限就可以了，只要有执行权限，开机的时候它就会起动。反之就不会起动。
其他的我也迷糊着呢！哪位详细说说。
具体有什么好处我也不是很清楚，但我一个老师就说他不用slackware的原因就是不喜欢这样的起动风格。
可我感觉还可以啊，只是方式不同，还不是干同样的事情。
