xwindows无法启动（情况比较特殊）

前天我想从上交的服务器上用apt-get dist-upgrade升级一下OS，结果重启后，无法进入redhat9，并出现错误信息：

press any key 后进入grub菜单，然后进入grub想重新加载一下内核

按TAB键竟然没有反应。/boot文件是空的，不知道为什么？我想可能是是我升级操作系统造成的。

因此，想从网上查一下类似的错误，可能是我的搜法方法不当，没有这种例子。
这样只能自己解决了。

由于没有软驱，所以就使用光盘救援linux rescue
系统提示说;“root挂在到/mnt/sys...中
按enter后，进入shell“

结果，回车后机子重启，后来我就放弃了这种方法。

然后，我用光盘重装了了一下内核部分，终于能进系统了

但是，startx后说 command not find 我就纳闷了，“为什么呢，我有没有动过xwindows“
然后我又重新装了一下xwindows
重启startx后，闪了两下没有进到图形界面，实在不知道怎么弄了，请高手指教。

你装的不是redhat9吗？安装光盘上找一找redhat-config-xfree86看头的rpm包，安装上就有了。

可以用光盘选择升级安装的方式，重新安装X和桌面(gnome或kde)，大概就可以了。

不行啊！！
按照升级的方式，光盘里面的rpm包没有分组。不知道选那些
后来，我把有关X的东西全选上！与我机子里面得好多东西冲突（因为我的kde是3。3的）
