xwindows无法启动(情况比较特殊)

前天我想从上交的服务器上用apt-get dist-upgrade升级一下OS,结果重启后,无法进入redhat9,并出现错误信息:

press any key 后进入grub菜单,然后进入grub想重新加载一下内核

grub>root (hd0,1)
grub>kernel (hd0,0) /boot/
按TAB键竟然没有反应。/boot文件是空的,不知道为什么?我想可能是是我升级操作系统造成的。

因此,想从网上查一下类似的错误,可能是我的搜法方法不当,没有这种例子。
这样只能自己解决了。

由于没有软驱,所以就使用光盘救援linux rescue
系统提示说;“root挂在到/mnt/sys...中
按enter后,进入shell“

结果,回车后机子重启,后来我就放弃了这种方法。

然后,我用光盘重装了了一下内核部分,终于能进系统了

但是,startx后说 command not find 我就纳闷了,“为什么呢,我有没有动过xwindows“
然后我又重新装了一下xwindows
重启startx后,闪了两下没有进到图形界面,实在不知道怎么弄了,请高手指教。

你装的不是redhat9吗?安装光盘上找一找redhat-config-xfree86看头的rpm包,安装上就有了。

可以用光盘选择升级安装的方式,重新安装X和桌面(gnome或kde),大概就可以了。

不行啊!!
按照升级的方式,光盘里面的rpm包没有分组。不知道选那些
后来,我把有关X的东西全选上!与我机子里面得好多东西冲突(因为我的kde是3。3的)
